On-chain basics

Finality

Finality is the point after which a transaction cannot be reversed or reorganised out of the chain.

Probabilistic on proof-of-work chains (more confirmations = safer), deterministic on many proof-of-stake chains. Exchanges set confirmation counts to reach acceptable finality.

On Swap.bz

Confirmation requirements per asset are why BTC→SOL is slower than SOL→BTC.
