USDC on Base vs ERC-20
Both are USD Coin. They live on different chains. The deposit address is issued for one of them.
USDC on Base is Circle’s token on Coinbase’s L2. ERC-20 USDC is the same issuer on Ethereum mainnet. Fees and confirmation times differ. A Swap.bz quote that says “USDC · Base” will not credit an Ethereum mainnet transfer, even if the 0x deposit string looks familiar.
Base USDC → native SOL often finishes in under 5 minutes after the Base transfer confirms. Ethereum USDC adds L1 gas (typically 5–15 minutes total, more if Ethereum is congested). Neither time is a guarantee.
If you bought USDC on Coinbase and withdrew to Base, select Base in the widget. If the coins sit in MetaMask on Ethereum, select Ethereum. Look at the wallet’s network dropdown — not the token icon.

What to do
- 1.In your wallet, confirm the network name: Base or Ethereum.
- 2.Open /swap/usdc-to-sol and pick that same USDC network on send.
- 3.Paste a Solana wallet for receive — Phantom, Solflare, or an exchange SOL deposit with any required memo.
- 4.Send USDC only on the selected chain to the deposit address.
Before you send
Sending Ethereum USDC to a Base deposit (or the reverse) can permanently lose funds.
You still need a little ETH on that L2/L1 to pay the USDC transfer.
USDC and USDT are different tokens on every chain.
