Gas
Gas is the unit that measures computation on Ethereum-style chains; the fee equals gas used × gas price.
Token transfers cost more gas than native ETH transfers because they execute contract code. L2s such as Arbitrum, Optimism and Base use the same model at a fraction of the cost.

Sending USDT or USDC on Ethereum requires ETH for gas in the sending wallet; on Tron you need TRX, on Solana SOL.
