# Private Swap when you want extra hops

> Standard is 0.5% and follows the chain. Private is 1% — extra hops, often via XMR, typically 15–45 minutes. Same widget, no account.

Standard follows the quoted route at 0.5%. If you receive Monero, that payout chain already hides amounts and addresses. If you receive BTC or USDT, the payout is a normal public transfer — that is when extra hops help.

Private Swap is 1%. Liquidity partners (Houdini-style routing, often via XMR) add hops between deposit and payout so a simple on-chain “A paid B” link is harder to draw. Typical time is 15–45 minutes. You still send a listed asset and receive a listed asset in wallets you control.

Stay on Standard when you want speed or you already receive XMR. Choose Private when a send or receive leg is transparent and you want that extra hop layer. A partner can still pause a flagged deposit — see Status.

## Key facts

- **Standard:** 0.5% · often under 5 min on fast pairs
- **Private Swap:** 1% · typically 15–45 minutes
- **What it reduces:** Direct deposit → payout correlation
- **What it does not do:** Not a mixer · not a legal shield

## How Private Swap works

1. **You get one quote, one deposit address** — Pick the pair, toggle Private, paste your receive and refund addresses. The quote already includes the 1% fee — no account, no extra form.
2. **Deposit is routed through extra hops** — The routing partner does not pay you from the wallet that received your deposit. Funds move through intermediate legs, often via Monero, before the payout leg.
3. **Payout from an unrelated wallet** — Your receive address is paid from a wallet with no direct on-chain link to your deposit. Typical total time: 15–45 minutes.
4. **What stays visible** — Your own deposit transaction and, if you receive BTC/USDT/ETH, the payout transaction are still public on their chains. Private Swap breaks the link between them — it is not a mixer and does not hide your wallet from its own history.

## Before you send

- Private Swap reduces a direct deposit-to-payout link. It is not “untraceable” and not a legal anonymity guarantee.
- A partner can still delay or refuse a flagged deposit. Status & refunds: /status.
- If you receive BTC or USDT after Private, that payout transaction is still public on that chain.

## FAQ

### Is Private Swap a mixer?

No. It is an extra-cost routing option on a swap quote. You still send a listed asset and receive a listed asset at addresses you control.

### When should I stay on Standard?

When the receive asset is already XMR, or when you only need a fast cross-chain send and accept a more direct route.

### Are fees the only cost?

No. Each chain still charges its own network fee. The quote shows the amount you receive before you deposit.
